Bridle in your imagination! I am not talking pig ears or feet neither more disgusting and unusual animal meat cuts. Today I found out that dogs DO love going vegan, at least when it comes to treats.
I was making box choys as a side for brunch since I felt my body needs more steamed veggies to function in a healthy way. Moki-the-dog, who is always by my side when I am in the kitchen convinced that his services as a chef-assistant are definitely necessary, started to get really excited lifting his nose up in the air to smell the vapors.
Now, it is notorious that any dog left alone would eat a reasonable amount of green grass to take care of an upset stomach. And we already found out about Moki's craving for avocados. But here we are talking of a dog who is open to taste salad leaves only to suck the olive oil on the surface then spits them on the floor. And in a fruit bowl, he'd go only for small bites of banana, mango and green grapes discarding all of the other varieties.
Box choys, though, did the trick. It seems like Moki can't have enough of them. He likes the taste and the texture and keeps asking for more as soon as he swallows.
Not sure what will be the afterwards effect. Will Moki get stomach cramps and purge himself? Will he be back tomorrow sticking his nose in the grocery bags to find more of the delicious white-green cabbage-like treat? Will he start to perform a tai-chi routine in the park before lunch?
Stay tuned. More in the next days about dogs and box-choys as a treat.
